Faheem Haider

Mr. Faheem Haider is the Managing Director/CEO of MariEnergies since August 2020. He is also an Executive Director.

In addition, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GHG Emissions Mitigation Limited, MD/CEO of Mari Minerals (Pvt) Limited, Chairman and MD/CEO of Tuzgi Minerals (Pvt) Limited, non-executive director on the boards of Pakistan International Oil Limited (UAE), Mari Technologies Limited, Sky47 Limited, Ammuri Minerals (Pvt) Limited, Ammuri Resources (Pvt) Limited, and a member of the executive board of Pink Ribbon Pakistan.

During his international career spanning over 30 years, he has held various technical and leadership roles with renowned international oil and gas companies such as Union Texas Petroleum, OMV Pakistan Exploration GmbH, Helix RDS Limited (UK), BG Group Plc (UK), and Neptune Energy Group (UK) (formerly known as Engie E&P International). Apart from Pakistan, he has worked in full-time roles in the UK, Oman, Egypt, and France, contributing to a wide range of projects across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

He possesses a comprehensive understanding of the Exploration and Production (E&P) business from technical, operational, and commercial perspectives. In addition to managing core E&P operations in different parts of the world, he has hands-on experience in joint venture management, growth strategy development, business expansion, operational excellence, organizational transformation, and stakeholder management.

Before joining MariEnergies, Mr. Haider served as Head of Strategy and Business Development for North Africa and Asia-Pacific at Neptune Energy, based in London, where he played a key role in expanding Neptune’s business in Egypt, Indonesia, and Australia. He specializes in leading technically focused E&P operations and optimizing operational costs.

Although Mr. Haider is primarily an upstream E&P professional, his current role at MariEnergies, combined with his board experience and exposure to the diverse businesses of the Fauji Foundation Group, has enabled him to broaden his expertise beyond oil and gas into other sectors such as mining, power, cement, fertilizer, and terminal operations.

Mr. Haider holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and Production Management (with distinction) from Imperial College London, UK, a Postgraduate Diploma from the College of Petroleum Studies, Oxford, UK, and a BSc (with honors) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan.
